We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our bid to deliver the Healthwatch service for Croydon, following a procurement process earlier this year.
Having successfully delivered the Healthwatch Haringey service for the past 10 years, along with a range of NHS, community engagement and research projects, our knowledge and expertise provide us with the skills to better understand the challenges facing the NHS and other care providers in Croydon, and to make sure the experiences of local people improve health and care services for everyone.
Through our work, we’ve demonstrated the power of public feedback in helping the health and care system understand what is working, spot issues and think about how care can be better in the future.
Seventy-five years after its birth, the NHS and the social care face enormous challenges and big questions about how we invest in future services. We face unfair and avoidable differences in health across the population and between different groups in society. Tackling the care backlog and building a future service that can help people stay well and support those in need will be challenging.
Health and social care decision-makers need the public’s input, and this is where Healthwatch comes in.
The seamless continuity of the Healthwatch Croydon service is essential, and the current Healthwatch team will stay in place, as will many members of the Board, continuing their valuable work. Together, we commit to helping NHS and social care services deliver high-quality care across the borough and wider health systems of South West London.
