On Wednesday 22 May the new Haringey Community Collaborative was launched at Mind in Haringey. Funded by Haringey Council and the NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board and delivered by Public Voice and Mind in Haringey, the service will provide essential support to Haringey’s Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS).

We have partnered with Mind in Haringey to combine our knowledge, expertise and passion to work creatively and innovatively together to support the VCS in Haringey, ensuring that the sector is stronger, able to attract more external funding and deliver better services for local people and communities.

The Community Collaborative will involve residents and organisations in all levels of decision making, from identifying priorities and themes for the VCS to the allocation of local grant funding in Haringey.

The event was attended by Cllr Peray Ahmet, Leader of Haringey Council, Haringey Council’s Chief Executive, Andy Donald, Cllr Ajda Ovat, Cabinet Member for Communities, new Mayor, Councillor Sue Jameson, and a special video message was sent by David Lammy, MP.

MP David Lammy said: “I admire the ambition of Public Voice and Mind in Haringey to support local voices and I applaud their goal to reduce inequalities. They are committed to engaging residents, the voluntary sector, Haringey Council and the NHS to improve services, and to supporting individuals and communities to flourish and thrive.”

Council Leader, Cllr Peray Ahmet said: We look forward to working with Haringey Community Collaborative and the two wonderful organisations behind it. The voluntary sector is at the heart of our communities and this new capacity building partnership will give us the opportunity to better understand the people who live in our communities and how we can work more closely with the voluntary sector to support them.”

The first Community Collaborative Challenge Fund will be launched this summer.
