Haringey Community Collaborative, which is delivered by Public Voice in partnership with Mind in Haringey, has launched its first Voluntary and Community Sector Challenge Fund.
The find is aimed at supporting residents most impacted by rising living costs. Grants ranging from £2,000 to £3,000 will be available to local organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100,000. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
The Haringey VCS Challenge Fund provides financial support to grassroots groups and organisations addressing key issues affecting the community. Each funding round focuses on specific themes, guided by the VCS Priorities Report. Successful applicants will be selected by a panel of local residents, experts, and stakeholders, ensuring that the funded projects align with community needs.
The first round of the Challenge Fund will focus on addressing the cost of living crisis affecting Haringey’s vulnerable residents. Priority will be given to projects that meet basic needs, provide community support, or enhance financial stability through education and employment.
With a £20,000 budget, the fund aims to support 6 to 10 local organisations, offering grants of £2,000-£3,000, with up to £4,000 for exceptional projects. Grantees will have six months to complete their work, culminating in a showcase event for stakeholders and funders.
In addition to funding, recipients will receive capacity-building support from Haringey Community Collaborative, including tailored guidance to enhance project delivery.
The Challenge Fund plans to run 1-2 themed rounds annually, with efforts to secure additional funding for future rounds.
