On 19th November, our Cancer Community Links and Haringey Advice Partnership teams held a coffee morning and cancer awareness event at Welbourne Health Centre in Tottenham Hale. The coffee morning is part of a series that Haringey Advice Partnership has been delivering in collaboration with the centre. Despite the bad weather the event was very well attended, with lots of positive feedback.

Zoe Douglas from Cancer Community Links presented ‘Cancer Information for You’ – an interactive talk with plenty of opportunities for audience participation. Designed by Cancer Research, the talk is for anyone who wants to learn more about cancer prevention and early diagnosis. It covers:

  • Separating cancer myths from facts and where to find reliable information about cancer
  • How to reduce the risk of cancer
  • The importance of spotting cancer early
  • Support services available to improve your health

Kate Bell from Haringey Advice Partnership supplied cancer related resources for residents to take away and shared details of the partnership’s other regular sessions in the community.

If your community group would like to benefit from this free and inspiring talk, please contact Zoe by email.
